What in the world was Aaron thinking when he made the golden calf?  He practically led them straight into an idolatrous party.  Of course, the people were yearning for it.  God's response is intense.  Moses' intercession is needed.  In all of it we see our need for a Savior.

We see in Exodus 29:1-9 that what the priests had to go through in order to be consecrated was pretty unusual.  Lots of sacrifices and blood.  As we will see in our Exodus study once again, this all points us forward to the fulfillment in Jesus who offered up the last and final sacrifice.

The priests of Israel were a unique sect of people in Israel.  Special privileges with God that no one else could partake in had been given to them.  In Exodus 28:1-5, we will see that Jesus, our great high priest, has secured those privileges for us through our union with Him.

The last 16 chapters of Exodus major on the tabernacle.  You might wince at the thought of working through this section.  Not so with Israel...they were stoked that God would be at the center of their camp.  We'll look at Exodus 25:1-9 and briefly study the tabernacles's purpose for Israel and see how Jesus fulfills the tabernacle/temple purpose in our lives today.

Have you read through the second half of Exodus lately?  It's tough sledding because we're not sure what to do with some of those strange laws.  We'll find some answers as well as see the connection that the writer of Hebrews makes between Exodus and Christ's blood being sprinkled on our souls.

We return to our study in Exodus and in Exodus 19:1-6a we see God entering in a binding relationship with His people and becoming His treasured possession.  What does God expect from us?  What can we expect from Him?  And, how does this help us understand the greatness of our salvation?
