God's Gifts for the Journey

Pastor Nate brings the message "God’s Gifts for the Journey” from Joshua 1.  This message begins a seven part series through the book of Joshua which is a testimony that God is Faithful to His promises.  For Israel the journey into the land is one that seems overwhelming, even impossible, but God has given them His Word and His Presence. God's gifts enable His people to endure.

God's Authority in the Face of Death

Pastor Stephen brings the message, "God's Authority in the Face of Death."  While there are many stories of Christian heroes who have suffered much for the Faith, many of us wouldn't want to voluntarily sign up for a path like theirs. But what happens when God brings unrequested loss into our lives? How do we think about His power, plans, or authority to act when approaching these difficult seasons? In this message we'll see from Ezekiel 24:15-27 how God uses the grief He's placed in our paths to glorify Him and to serve His grand purposes.

Forgiveness from the Heart

Pastor Nate brings the message "Forgiveness from the Heart” from Matthew 18:21-35.  It’s impossible to live in this world without relational hurt and pain.  The question is this, how do Christians look to Jesus for help when someone sins against you?  This message shows how Jesus explains the important, life-giving practice of forgiveness.

A Perplexing Resurrection

Pastor Nate brings the message ""A Perplexing Resurrection" from Luke 24:1-12.  Christians all over the world celebrate the reality of the Risen Jesus.  We see how the women were perplexed at the tomb, how the angels had a proclamation of truth, and how the disciples had varying responses to the resurrection.  Our perplexities come to rest when we lay hold of the Risen Savior.

The King Who Wept

Pastor Nate brings the message "The King Who Wept” from Luke 19:28-40. This message is the celebration of Jesus coming into Jerusalem just days before His death.  He is a King entering the capital city to shouts of praise.  Yet, He weeps over the blindness of their hearts. We have a Savior who has power to save and compassion for those who need Him.

God's Commands, God's Promises

Have you read through the second half of Exodus lately?  It's tough sledding because we're not sure what to do with some of those strange laws.  We'll find some answers as well as see the connection that the writer of Hebrews makes between Exodus and Christ's blood being sprinkled on our souls.

War and the Longing for Peace

With North Korea to the west of us and terrorists to the east, war always appears inevitable.  Jesus says that we should love our enemies.  Does this mean that Christians are to be pacifists?  As we look to the Scriptures, we'll draw some conclusions that should help us think more clearly about this particular issue.

My Treasured Possession

We return to our study in Exodus and in Exodus 19:1-6a we see God entering in a binding relationship with His people and becoming His treasured possession.  What does God expect from us?  What can we expect from Him?  And, how does this help us understand the greatness of our salvation?

Beholding the Glory of Christ

The message is from 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 where Paul shows us the power of beholding the glory of Christ -- that by it we can be transformed into the likeness of Christ. We will seek to answer questions like, "How do we behold Christ?" and "What keeps us from looking to Him?

Jesus is Coming - Part 4

The message title is, "Where is He???" from Matthew 2:1-12.  "Merry Christmas, Herod, you've been replaced!"  With magi showing up in Jerusalem declaring that the King of Jews has been born, God once again reveals His greatness to the world.

The message is from Micah 5:2-4.  With Christmas nearly here, we see more than a baby lying in a manger.  We see a King who has come for the eternal security of His people.

Jesus is Coming - Part 2

As we look towards Christmas we welcome the hope and peace that only Jesus can bring into our hearts.  More than that, we read in Isaiah 9 that His peace will be an eternal reality on the new earth.  That's a promise that will carry us through the week.

Jesus is Coming - Part 1

As we move into December, the anticipation of Jesus' arrival wells up within us.  The earliest promise of Jesus' coming is found in Genesis 3:15.  It covers God's sovereign grace, the conflict of sin, and the ultimate victory in which Satan and evil are ultimeately defeated through our Lord an Savior.

Thanksgiving...For the Church

The message comes from 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3.  One of the kindest gifts that God has given us is the local church family.  He has blessed us with spiritual brothers and sisters who, although not perfect, genuinely care and love us for who we are in Christ.  May our hearts be thankful to God for what He has given us.

The Weightiness of Prayer

As Christians, there are many things we find difficult to do. One of those is to pray. Prayer is easily pushed aside because of busy schedules, the results we want don't come, and we simply don't see a need for it. In Ephesians 6:10-18 Paul shows us the weightiness of prayer.

A Visit from the Father-in-Law

On the surface of Exodus 18 we see a visit from the ol' father-in-law.  More importantly, there are two essential practices that we need to aim for as Christians/a church that desires to worship God.

Wondering how the fires of worship are going to take off in your heart?  We'll be answering that question as we study a rather large section of Scripture (Exodus 7-15) in which God deliberately and mercifully makes Himself known.

Discouraged? God Will...

In Exodus 5-6, Moses has surrendered his will to God and is stepping out in faith.  All is good now, life falls into place, and Pharaoh becomes a friend, right?  Not quite.  Opposition rises up and discouragement sets in.  How does God help the discouraged?

Stop Making Excuses

In Exodus 3-4, we see that as God sees His people suffering in Egypt, He raises up an imperfect, excuse-laden fugitive named Moses.  The wonderful news of the Gospel is that no matter what the circumstances of life may be, God not only calls but also enables us to obey Him in ways we never imagined.
